EDITORS CORNER – 2009

     Our 2^nd Annual Dinner/Meeting was held on
Tuesday night – Oct. 20, 2009, at the HCSO new
Admin. Bldg. at 520 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa.

     I have to add that it was larger, and better than the first one held last Oct. 2008.
It was an increase of almost (35) people (members) over last years –
totaling almost (190) participants.

“GREAT TURNOUT”

     I’d like to take this opportunity to simply say – “Thank You”
to all our members who took time out of their busy schedules to join us this year.
The food was delicious, and was served by the HCSO Explorers – “Nice Job by all.”

     The Facilities was magnificent, and centrally located within the County for easy access. A very hardy “Thank You” must also go out to our current HCSO Crime Prevention Deputies, who did a superb job of setting this event up for us. It ran very smoothly,
I thought.

It was also very refreshing to see our current Sheriff – David Gee in attendance, along with his Command Staff. I do hope that all of you out there fully realize that we have one of the premier Sheriffs Offices in the State of Florida. He has truly performed a yeomans job of putting together this well-manned, well-trained Sheriffs Office amid all the current Budget restraints that has been forced upon his Office by our current economic conditions. My hat goes off to our current Sheriff David Gee.  

     Let’s all work very hard to get the message out into the Community that Neighborhood Watch is alive and well, and is blossoming here in Hillsborough County.
